Fringe’s adults 18-49 ratings for its third Friday dipped to 1.6. Fox stated that a 2.0 rating (what it was scoring in its old Thursday timeslot) for that demo is what's needed for the series to score a fourth season. Fringe made IGN's "2011 Endangered TV Series List." Here's what they had to say:Zitat
"Another show it pains us to list on here, Fringe is in a difficult position. It was getting clobbered on Thursday nights, but when it moved to Fridays, the initial ratings were better than anyone could have expected on that difficult night – only for it to drop in subsequent weeks. Still, FOX is trying hard to make something work for them on Fridays, so if Fringe can stabilize, it has a shot."

Dan in Pompton Plains, N.J.: What are your thoughts on Fringe? Canceled or renewed? It would be a crime if it gets axed. Almost as bad as John Noble not getting an Emmy nod for his role as Walter/Walternate.Inquired about Fringe's future for you, and insiders are pretty optimistic that Fringe will get another season. The show is said to be a personal fave of Fox boss Kevin Reilly, the DVR numbers are great, and oh yeah, in comparison to shows Lie To Me and Human Target, the series is a veritable critical darling. There are no guarantees in life or in television programming, but we feel pretty confident that season four of Fringe will happen. Yay!

In preparation for the return of Fringe to TV screens in the UK, John Noble, who plays Walter Bishop (and his alternate universe self Walternate) has spoken with SFX magazine about the series and what the rest of Fringe season 3 holds in store for fans. In doing so, he’s also confirmed that he and the cast want a fourth season of the show, they feel that they will get it, and that he hopes a decision will be made on the future of the show this week. Here’s a few spoiler free quotes from the interview:On where series 3 is heading:Zitat
“I haven’t seen the final script yet but it will be sensational, I know that from the little leaks I’ve heard about how this season will resolve. We’ve had some most unusual things happening. There will be some form of resolution to that conflict by the end of season three.”On whether the series 3 finale is a cliffhanger:Zitat
I think there’s no doubt about that at all. From what I’ve heard it’s, ‘Oh my God!’ territory. On plans for how long it would take to finish the overall story arc:Zitat
“When I was hired to do this JJ Abrams said to me it’s a six-year story arc if we can keep going.”On what happens if the show is cancelled before the six year story arc gets a chance to unfold:Zitat
Just talking to [showrunners] Jeff Pinkner and Joel Wyman they could do more [than six years], because the material’s so rich they could go anywhere. They could also do less. They haven’t written themselves into a corner where if the show has to go out after three, four, five years it’s going to be left hanging, because no-one wants that. So they’ve left options open for themselves, but I know they were told to write six years.”On the chances of a fourth season:Zitat
““The feeling among cast and crew is we want it to. We think it’s probably, in terms of production values, the best show on television in terms of what is produced each week. It’s mind-bending stuff. It’s constantly interesting. No-one’s longing for it to end, saying, ‘Oh thank God that’s over!’ which happens with some series. The chances of it returning? I know, for example, the people at Fox and Warner Bros, who are our two American heavies, they actually adore the show, they’re incredibly fond of Fringe and proud of it. That’s one side of it, the other side of it is that it has to find a place in the commercial world. It has to be sufficiently popular to make money for them. So that’s the dilemma they face at the moment. Which way will it go? Our feeling is that it will get a fourth season, but that decision hasn’t been made yet and I’m hoping it will be made this week. We’ve kind of done what was asked of us when we moved to Friday night and all things being equal I think we probably will get another one. But if it went the other way I wouldn’t be terribly surprised either.”You can read the full interview at SFX.

Fringe: Staffel 4 gesichert
dann geht Fringe regulär in Season 5.
Sind die Quoten zu niedrig, dann wird man sicher ne verkürzte 5. Season mit 13 Folgen machen (damit wäre man knapp über 100).
Da kann ich nur zustimmenEXTRA FREU
